“DEAR VERA II”, designed by Shigeru Uchida

Hotel Il Palazzo, directed and interior designed by Shigeru Uchida and built by Aldo Rossi, one of the most famous architects of the 20th century, was established in Fukuoka in 1989 as the first designer hotel. The “Dear Vera” clock was designed at the same time as Uchida’s “Dear Morris” clock for the hotel as a table clock with a similar form, Vera being the name of Rossi’s daughter and a tribute to Rossi. Initially sold under Uchida’s private brand, Chairs, it was later commercialized by ALESSI, a leading Italian design brand. The newly produced “Dear Vera” is a reissue from the Chairs brand based on the dial of the ALESSI version.
